ATELIER MISE EN PAGE FOR MAC
============================

Installation
------------
1. Double-click the zip file to extract it (if not already done).
2. Drag "Atelier Mise en Page" into the Applications folder.
This matters: from the Downloads folder, macOS prevents
   the program from updating itself.
3. Open "Atelier Mise en Page" from the Applications folder.

First launch: the message "Apple cannot verify..."
--------------------------------------------------
The program is free and not signed by Apple: macOS blocks it the first time.
This is normal. To allow it (once only):

macOS 15 (Sequoia) and newer:
  1. Open the application: macOS shows the message. Click "Done".
  2. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
  3. At the very bottom, next to "Atelier Mise en Page was blocked",
click "Open Anyway", then confirm with your password.

macOS 14 (Sonoma) and older:
  Right-click (or Control-click) the application > Open,
then click "Open" in the message.

If macOS says the application "is damaged", open Terminal
(Applications > Utilities), paste this line, then press Enter:
  xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Atelier Mise en Page.app"

What you need
-------------
- A Mac with macOS 10.13 or newer (Apple or Intel chip: the same
  application works on both).
- Preferably Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave or Chromium: the Atelier
then opens in its own window. Otherwise, it opens in your usual
  browser (Safari...).
- An Internet connection for the fonts and for exporting images.

Language
--------
The Atelier starts in your system language if it is French, English,
Spanish, German or Portuguese, otherwise in French. To change it, use the
language list at the top right of the window (also in the View tab).
Your choice is remembered.
The translations have not been reviewed by native speakers. The update dialogs always follow the language of
macOS.

Where are your publications?
----------------------------
They are saved automatically in:
  ~/Library/Application Support/AtelierMiseEnPage/profil
(if the Atelier opens in Safari, they are kept by Safari).
To keep them elsewhere or send them, use Save: this creates a .json file
that you can reopen with Open.

Print and create a PDF
----------------------
Export as image > "Print or save as PDF...", then
"PDF" > "Save as PDF" in the print window.

Update
------
Click "Update" at the top of the window, then "Check for updates".
If the browser asks to open "Atelier Mise en Page – mise à jour", click "Open".
The program checks for a newer version and offers to install it.
Your publications are kept.

Uninstall
---------
Move "Atelier Mise en Page" to the Trash, then delete the folder
~/Library/Application Support/AtelierMiseEnPage (this also erases your
publications). In the Finder: Go menu > Go to Folder, then paste
~/Library/Application Support
